Dusit’s story began in 1948 with Thanpuying Chanut Piyaoui’s vision for the Princess Hotel. One of Bangkok’s first hotels, the Princess Hotel offered modern amenities like a swimming pool and air conditioning, all combined with the warmth of Thai hospitality. It opened its doors in May 1949.

The 1970 opening of Dusit Thani Bangkok marked a pivotal moment setting the bar for luxury and allowing Thanpuying Chanut to fulfill her dream of a hospitality college. The name, Dusit Thani, meaning “Town in Heaven,” reflects a harmony between Thai and Western values, a core principle that defines Dusit’s global hospitality to this day.

Now, Dusit extends beyond Thailand with multiple brands offering a range of services guided by the same vision: to build upon a remarkable legacy with innovation and integrity.
